“Aspen Circle” is what I call this interesting spot I found along Aspen ridge, which covers the mountain range on the east side of the Arkansas river, just south of the mountain town of Buena Vista, Colorado.
To get there was not easy. A forest service road will take you from Trout creek pass along Highway 24, all the way to Salida, Colorado, which is about about 30 miles away. The location of this shot, Aspen ridge, is about half way between the two towns.
As I found out, you can discover many aspen covered areas that offer photographic opportunity while hiking along that ridge. On this Autumn day I found this aspen circle that reminded me of a Temple.
I exposed Fujichrome Velvia film at f32 @ 1/15 second.
